Brown County Rock and Mineral Club

The place where the rockhound is always welcome!

The Group

we are a small group that meets in Nashville Indiana at the 4H Fairgrounds on the 3rd Saturday of the Month. We will be doing field trips and more soon.

The Club started up around March 2010 so we are still getting setup and working on what kind of rock club we will be.

The cost of membership is $5.00 a year as of now. there will be door prizes at the meetings and a show and tell of your finds.

Everyone is welcome to stop by. Bring your rocks and maybe we can help identify them.

Salt Creek runs behind the store and its full of geodes and other rocks and theres even gold in the creek. you can rent Gold Prospecting gear from the store or buy it also.

We collect Rocks and Minerals and fossils of all kinds.

So if you have ever Had a Rock Collection or Picked up a Fossil and dropped it in your Pocket or are a Die-Hard Rockhound we would like to have you stop by and say Hi some day

The Brown County Rock and Mineral Club was founded in 2010 for the purpose of promoting interest in and knowledge of Brown County and the natural environment that surrounds it. (Rocks,Fossils & Mineral)
we are open to the public to answer questions if we can. Membership is open to anyone with the $5.00 membership fee and over the age of 18 (less if accompanied by a guardian)
Membership includes a right to vote at all club meetings as well as the option to suggest a location for outings and field-trips, You will also receive any newsletters and/or other members only things. (at this time we have no newsletter)

Our #1 Rule is Safety first

We as a group or club can not/will not be held responsible for any and all accidents or injuries. You are responsible for yourself and anyone your a guardian of on all outings and field-trips.  Rock-hounding can be very dangerous and safety of yourself and others i alot more important then anything you will find.
